Subject : Crowley Water Line Size
College Station, TX 77842
l
This is to confirm the phone conversation of February 4, 1999, wherein you requested a minimum
water line size of 24" to be constructed in the future State Highway 40 R.O.W. The Crowley
Development is preparing a request for oversize participation for 4000' of waterline from 16" to
24" and 3400' of waterline from 12" to 24". Future developments (or the city) will extend this line
8500' to the north to Graham Road. The segment of existing line from Graham Road to Rock
Prairie Road will need to be upsized from a 16" to 24" by the city to close the loop at full capacity
(2800'). As indicated in the 2020 water model, pressures should not be a problem in the area,
however this line will allow the system to be looped with a more direct route to the Greens Prairie
Water Tower. The developer has agreed to dedicate easements within the future S.H. 40 R.O.W.
prior to dedication of that R.O.W. This will give the city superior rights to the area which ensures
that the line will not need to be moved in the future at city cost. As discussed in our last meeting,
we will need to give guidance to the design engineer on how the connection at the Greens Prairie
Water Tower is to be made. Please forward that information as soon as possible. Thanks.
