Subject: Re: Eidelweiss Phase 66 I appreciate being kept on the loop on this. Steve came in here either Thurs or Friday to see where his plat stands and I basically#old him that the last conversation we had, Mark, was that the same things needed to be done which l told him about several weeks ago. He then went into this-long tale about how long it takes to get the sewer TV'd and I asked him if he :had any constructive suggestions. He said that he thinks the. sewer ought to be TV'd before the streets and sidewalks are completed in case there are problems. That. would. preclude having to tear out stuff to address the problems. He says there seems to be a glitch in our system somewhere. between Vern and Rob. He had nothing but praise for Vern, and says that Vern always calls in fior TV'ing early enought, but Rob doesn't apparently get "work orders" right away.. I don't know just how this system works, but wanted to pass along what Steve told me. Perhaps there is a glitch -maybe note- but you have Steve's suggestions now. »> Mark Smith 03/23/98 08:49AM »> The process is .pretty much the same as it was before. 1. When the. developer is ready-fie needs to get the completion letter from the inspector. That. letter (same form :we've always used) should list the items that are complete and should' be signed by the developer. 2. The inspector verifies that the items have been. completed and adds his signiture. 3. The inspector brings the form to me. 4. I check the letter against the engineer's. estimate and determine if all the items are accounted for. 5. If there are items-incomplete, 1'll notify the inspector & developer. 6. In some cases, l will allow the developer to "bond out" some items so that the plat can be filed. Otherwise, I; withold my sigrriture 'till. all the items ate either complete or accounted for. 7. Once all items are complete or accounted for, I will. sign the form, make a copy for the developer, make a copy for Development Services and notify ail that the plat can be filed. »> Brett McCully 03120!98 12;53PM »> On Thursday and Friday, Steve Arden was trying ike heck to be able to file his plat. With Vem out of pocket and you out as well, i was only able to relay that the sewerwas tv'd and checked out ok late Thursday. lJnforlunatelyl had to tell Steve that I was not fully up to speed on the current acceptance process, so I could not issue any form of acceptance letters or get anybody to release a plat. He was not happy, but was not mad either. He also took the chance to complain abouf how long it takes to get the sewer's tv's, and wants us to get something .:done about it. Steve will probably be calling you early Monday to see what can be done about getting his plat filed. When you get a chance, and if you want me to be able to carry this torch in the future, let's get together and go over the acceptance process so 1 can write some. notes.
