FUNDING ANALYSIS
Cost of Improvements: According to the site plan, the preliminary cost estimate was
$9,840: However, due to increased costs and other unknown
factors, the applicant is estimating a cost of $15,000 in order to
request the maximum grant amount.
Available Funding: $34,841 from FY 97.
Overall, $100,000 was approved through 1995 Bond Funds, to be
allocated to Streetscape projects throughout the City. Of these
funds, $40,000 was. allocated to FY 97, $30,000 to FY 98, and
$30,000 to FY 99.
Eligible Grant Amount
(50 percent): $7,500.00
* Therefore, this request, along with the Brandon Heights grant, amounts to approximately 31
percent of the available funds for FY 97. The grant funds maybe spent after a PIP permit is
approved and a contract is signed.
Gateways. Subcommittee
Recommendation: On Friday, September 13, 1996, members of the Gateways
Subcommittee met with Ms. Wolf to discuss the proposed gateway.
The general consensus of the Subcommittee was that although
I! there are .definite details to be worked out, some kind of gateway
'' treatment to this neighborhood is worthy of funding consideration.
The Subcommittee also requested that if the CAC grants funding
for the project,: the applicant and .city staff should present the details
the approved PIl' permit to the next CAC meeting for additional
comments. .__._
