VARIANCE REQUEST
In the3'RC review, it was noted that a variance request was needed for the driveway offset from
Guadalupe:: This is an existing service driveway with minimal traffic entering' and exiting at this
location. TPM, Inc. contacted Kent Laza, City Engineer after the PRC 'regarding this noted item.. He
.clarified that the variance would be needed' for the new entrance drive to new student parking lot not:
aligned with Madera. Street.
The following specific variation from the ordinance is requested;
CSISD requests avariance-for the alignment of the entrance drive alone Nueces Drive near the
marching band field near. Madera Street.
This variance is necessary due tothe following special. conditions:
The entrance drive is to the-new parking area and is for school use only. It is not a through street.
Alianin_g the .drive with Madera would create. a through street effect to Welsh.
The unnecessary hardship(s) involved by meeting the provisions of the ordinance other. than financial
hardship is/are;.
The alignment would decrease the area that is required for the marching band field and soccer field. If
these fields were moved to the north to allow the driveway to align with Madera, these fields would
encroach into the natural drainage area on the north end of the site.
The following alternatives to the request. variance are possible:
Re-design of the parkin
Re-design of the -site. drainage.
The variance will not be contrary to the public interest by virtue of thefollowing facts:
The entr~is for student parking and is not a street.
The facts stated in this lication are true and correct.
