MEMO TO FILE
From: Shirley J. Volk
RE: Proposal from Innovations Furniture Company for painting the building at 1907 S Texas Avenue
in the Wolf Pen Creek zoning district
On 10/31/96 after talking with Jane Kee & Joey Dunn and finding out from them. that this course of action
is what they wanted, I called. David Brochu, chairman of the Design Review Board and explained and
described what Trish Roths, Manager of Innovations Furniture, had proposed as colors for repainting their
business. (Neutral colors; "sienna sand", "balsam bark", "driftwood" or "beachwood" with "colony
white", "sweetbriar" and a sort of musky rose as trim. Also; she was going to enclose columns and
change out the neon sign from the. "flamingo pink & blue" to some blending colors of rose & teal.
David said he thought that sounded excellent, and he had no problem with us calling Ms. Roths and
telling her she could go ahead and paint her building any combination of those proposed, and then we
would take to the P&Z the information only of what we had done.
I called her on 10/31 and relayed this information. She was very grateful, and wondered if she could
retrieve her color samples. I told her she can, but we need 8 color copies of her proposal so we can hand
them out to the F&Z and have one for the file. She will be picking up her color sheets on Monday a.m.
and will return the copies either in time for the packets, or no later than Thursday afternoon so we can
hand them out to P& Z when we tell them what we did.
