America Wall Systems consist of concrete posts and panels that are steel reinforced with integrated color. Our special manufacturing process creates a textured pattern on both sides of the 1'x5' panels. These precast panels, which can withstand up to 5000 PSI, slide down between the "I" shaped posts and inter- lock. This unique wall system is available in a variety of architectural designs. including a combination of brickstyle and wrought iron, traditional wood- style or brickstyle, woodstyle with the diamond lattice panel, the rock and stucco styles. 'T I TI The "I" shaped posts are set five feet apart in 18" diameter holes, a minimum of two feet deep, filled with concrete. The interlocking panels slide between these posts to set on the post footing. To eliminate cracking, there is an expansion space between the posts and panels. Topped by a textured cap, our wall system will last a lifetime. Maintenance~Free. s 1 Woodstyle concrete panels create a combination of warmth and durability, making them ideal for perimeter walls, property dividers, noise and wind screens, and landscape additions. 1 Our briclcstyle wall system creates a warm and elegant appearance which increases property value. The KL Series uses light to direct, emphasize, or suggest. Rather than offering a range of specialized, single-function luminaires, KL incorporates two optical systems: one for symmetric area lighting ideal for walkways anal paths, and the other for left or right throw stair lighting (field adjustable). It is not necessary to know months in advance, when the order is placed, in exactly what direction the light must go. The KL gives immediacy of choice -left or right directional throw can be chosen at the time of installation. Candlepower beam is also adjustable so light distribution on the stairway plane is maximized. A textured polycarbonate front cover, with tamper-resistant fasteners, withstands environmental challenges. Dark bronze acrylic enamel finish is standard, with black, white or natural aluminum available. Housings ship separately and have a hardboard cover to protect the box interior until the finish components are installed. In addition to the standard recessed concrete pour version, the KL may be ordered for stud-wail construction, free-standing units, surface or wall-top mounting. Exclusive Field Adjustable ptics Dimensions - Height 12-1/4" (31.1 cm) Width 14-1/4" (36.2 cm) Depth 8-3/16" (20.8 cm) Back Box 6" (15.2 cm) Lens 2-3/16" (5.6 cm) The multi-faceted Area Reflector provides general widespread illumination. The Directional Reflector is unique in the industry. The black mask may be moved from one side to the other, depending on which light direction is desired. The lamp socket bracket also adjusts vertical beam angle. Area Reflector Creating a perfectly illuminated pedestrian path is easily accomplished with the KL-A. The one-piece hydroformed ~~ reflector gives a symmetrically uniform distribution. A small percentage of light also extends back up the wall to locate it exactly for people using the site. The KL-A is available in all three HID sources as well as incandescent. Directional Reflector Directional Reflector (socket and mask set for left light throw) KL Directional Throw Lighting Uniform light distribution from the plaza, down the stairs, to a parking area is possible with the KL-D. The unique (patent pending) bi-adjustable socket assembly allows two modes of light adjustment. Left or right directional throw can be selected depending on fixture/stair position. Candlepower beam maybe adjusted up or down to optimize illuminations on the stairway plane. ~ (socket and mask set for right light throw). To ensure that the luminaire appearance is consistent, Lithonia Architectural Out- door offers a choice of IES distributions in most of its housing shapes. These five cutoff reFlectors are made from reflector-grade aluminum alloys, anodized, brightened and sealed. Each reflector is specific to the distribution. IYo optical compromises such as different socket settings or add-on shields are tolerated. ~; Type II Cutoff (R2) A long, narrow light spread, Type ll typically is used for lighting streets, alleyways and walking paths. Type III Cutoff (R3) The "workhorse" of dis- tributions patterns, the asymmetric Type III is the + most versatile choice, with pole spacings of up to six mounting heights possible. Type N Cutoff (R4) The Type N distribution sends 80% of light out- put forward (also left or right, as reflector is field- rotatable). Light falling behind the pole is limited to one mounting height. Type V Square (R5S) A square distribution can result in fewer poles and luminaires on a project because light overlap is eliminated. Uniformity and output are maxi- mized with Type V Square distribution. Type V Symmetric Cutoff (R5) The symmetrical distri- bution produced by the vertically-Tamped R5 re- flector is designed for the broad open expanses. A ~' strong glare-free beam produces excellent pave- ment uniformity without bright spots beneath the luminaire. Rectilinear and Centriform SERIES Arm-Mounted Luminaires __ __ The classic rectangular shape of the KAS family is the time- honored solution to many outdoor lighting situations ... and L.ithonia Architectural Outdoor leads all. other manufacturers in production of this type. of general area lighting. The KAS is available in three housing sizes, determined by lamp wattage. Four reflector systems -Type lI, Type lll, Type IV and Type V Square -provide the versatility needed for uniform perform- ance on the ground. Each KAS luminaire may be pole or wall mounted with a 12" extruded aluminum arm. Standard finish on the hand-detailed KRS is dark bronze TCIC polyester pow- der finish to withstand punishing environmental elements. The fluted design of our hydroformed reflector precisely directs light throw and minimizes arc-tube voltage rise. This upper reflector is the heart of the optical system, producing over 95% of the horizontal illumination. However, it is the other half of the system that affects one aspect of bollard lighting performance. Depending on the shape of the lower reflector, a "beacon" can either be created or negated. Now the specifier can make the choice as to which distinctive night- time effect will enhance a particular project. Standard Flared Cone Optical System The flared cone is the standard optical system for all Lithonia Architectural Outdoor bollards. It captures a reflection off the inside of the lens and bounces it back into the viewing angle. Square and Round Bollards Specifying the traditional round bollards immediately ensures the walkway will be a gracious space, well illuminated, at a scale comfortable to pedestrians. Standard bollard height is 42", but three other height options mean great flexibility to achieve proper scale with sitework. Standard finish on the KBR6 and KBR8 is dark bronze TGIC polyester powder; nine other colors and dark bronze Architectural Class 1 anodize are also available. Dimensions - KBR6: 6"(15.2 cm) Dia. x 42"(106.7 cm) height KBR8: 8"(20.3 cm) Dia. x 42"(106.7 cm) height This "sparkle" of light is useful when delineating long walk- ways, marking pedestrian entrances, or creating a perimeter effect. The flared cone produces an IES Type V cutoff distribution. Optional Cylindrical Reflector System Now glare-free nighttime performance is possible in a bollard. The cylindrical reflector option, available on all four shapes and sizes of Lithonia Architectural Outdoor bollards, is an in- novation for after dusk that gives a sleek daytime appearance as well. The cylindrical reflector captures the same internal reflection as the flared cone, but directs the light be/owviewing angles. This type of maximum cutoff is necessary where cars are driven, where bollards are used near residential or hospital windows, or where bollards are used on an incline and the eye level of people climbing a staircase is below normal. ~w~" k~u ~ . a"° " ~~ ~; ~ i ~~~ ~~~ iC~ ~~ ~rk.F9 x~a .~ TIOI`I -~ ~ ~w~~~~ - - Gtr! ~~~" ~~c~ ~~ ~~~~~~ ~~ ~~~ ~ ~,,~,1/05/96 16:19 FAX 409 69a 4243 M D G -~~-~ COCS DEVE. E. Texas Department of Transportation 1300 Texas Avenue Bryan, Tx 77803 Re: Inlet Box on Harvey Road (Office Max) Gas Line Conflict lay: com As you discussed with Greg Taggart and with me last week, we have received an esti.*nate from Lone Star Gas for the lowering of the gas line. As you can see from the accompanying letter, to eliminate the approximately 2-1/2" hump in this box, it will cost $8,000 to $10,000 as well as 5 to 6 weeks. I believe that this expense and loss of time is clearly not worth the very minor change in the box profile. Lone .Star has already. constructed an 8" steel sleeve around the 6" gas pipe, filled-with foam to protect the pipe. They. are :confident that there is no safety or operational. problem. The only result is_a small hump in the middle of the inlet box.. As you .are well aware, a 2-1/2" (0.20 foot) hump in the center of the box will not materially interfere with the fiznction of the box, nor will it cause it to silt or stand water at any practical level. This is a common sense approach to a minor problem, and we ask you to approve it so the project may proceed. Please feel free to call if you have any questions. S' erely, North B. Bardell, P.E. C. E. March 14, 1997 Greg Taggart MDG 203 Holleman Drive College Station, Texas 77840 Dear Greg: As we discussed yesterday, to sufficiently move the gas line in conflict with the storm sewer on the new Office Max will require LSG to replace the existing section of line and install a new line under, or above and around, the new sewer line.: The line in question is a 6" mill-wrap line buried approximately. 10-12'deep. Due to the depth of the line and our current workload, we will need to hire a contractor to perform this work. Shoring equipment. will also be required. We estimate the cost for the project to be ~8-10,000. The time frame is another issue. We have several local contractors .who are qualified, but they are currently working on other projects. These projects involve leaks that are a high priority at this time. Our best .guess is that we could have the work started by 4/14/97. Weather_permitting, it will take about 1 week to complete. If the steel sleeve we installed over :the line is not sufficient, please let me know as soon as possible:. Also, if you have any ideas on fiovv this can be avoided (now and in the future) please let me know. City of College .Station College Station, Texas 77842 Re; Pylon Sign for SCC Development Wolf Pen Creek -Highway 3f! @ Kyle ~ivenue Dear Natalie: Thank you for visiting with me this morning about the possible future revisions to the two lower panels of the above referenced pylori sign.. As I mentioned, SCC .originally planned to lease the other building to one or two tenants and the pylon sign was manufactured to accommodate this plan. However, current. activity indicates that the building may leave to be divided into four, five or possibly six spaces. Given this situation, we would like to have the a .ration of being able to subdivide the two lower panels on the sign in such a way. that each tenant would have a space. I have enclosed a drawing showing two examples of how this could be done. Tlie panels would be subdivided using vinyl cut and painted to match the size and color of the existing retainers. Alain, because SCC does not know exactly how- many tenants will be leasing the building, we are. only asking for tl~ ontron'to subdivide the panels. It is important from a marketing standpoint that they be able to offer signage to al:p~rospective tenants: As leases are finalized a snore definitive plan will be subinitled for your approval. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Should you have any questions-or need additional information, please do not hesitate to call. This memo is to follow up our telephone conversation yesterday concerning the Office Max development currently under construction on State Highway 30 (Harvey Road). The information you submitted concerning the screening wall of the loading dock area along the rear of the property is acceptable. The "traditional stucco look" precast concrete wall system shown m the "Fencecrete America" brochure. can be installed provided that the materials and color (Pueblo) match the building. As requested, the screening wall may be painted one solid color instead of the two-tone color scheme shown on the elevation drawings that were approved by the Planning and Zoning Commission. We also discussed the installation of the proposed retail fixtures and metal shelving. The tenant will be .allowed to install: the fixtures as shown on the approved building plans with the condition that the city's building inspector conduct a "walk.. through" to make sure the building is safe before the tenant is allowed to begin installation. You may .coordinate this inspection through Building Official Lance Simms at (409) 764-3.741. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me at 764-3570.
