Conditional Use Permit to allow the relocation of
three portable classroom. buildings and the addition of
six more buildings at A&M Consolidated High
.School
Intersection of Welsh and 2818 frontage road.
Area: Each building will be 1536: square feet.
Location: All nine buildings will. be located at the corner of
Nueces Drive and the 2818 .frontage road.

ENGINEERING:.. Before the last three buildings are installed the
applicant must submit a .drainage report to ensure
that these buildings will .not negatively effect the
drainage patterns in the area.

STAFF C01V11VIENTS:
Conditional use permits are granted by the Commission, subject to appropriate
.conditions .and safeguards, when the Commission finds:
A. That the proposed use meets all the minimum standards established in the
Zoning Ordinance for this type of .:use;
B. That the proposed use is in harmony with the purpose and intent of the
.zoning. ordinance and the. plan for physical. development of the district as
embodied in the comprehensive plan for the. development of the City;
'G. That the proposed use will not be detrimental to the. health, welfare, and
safety of the surrounding.. neighborhood or its occupants, nor be
substantially or permanently injurious to neighboring property.

The P.R,C. reviewed this project on May 31, 1995.. The. fact that .the buildings are to
be .located in such a visible space prompted discussion regarding .possible screening of
the corner. The applicant would like to put in as little.: landscaping as possible. now due
to the .fact that within" the next two to three years, the school .will. be expanding and the
entire site will be redeveloped. ' In light of this .pending reconstruction, the PRC
recommends .that. a time limit of four years be placed on approval of the buildings. At
the end of such time, either the buildings should be removed or adequately screened.
