HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance /' / ./ ./ ORDINANCE NO. 2112 AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 1.64 ACRE TRACT OF LAND KNOWN AS BLOCK 14A, SOUTHWOOD VALLEY SECTION 19, COLLEGE STATION, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM C-1 GENERAL COMMERCIAL TO R-4 APARTMENT/LOW DENSITY. WHEREAS, on February 23, 1995, the City Council of the City of College Station convened and pursuant to notices proscribed by law, held a public hearing with regard to the application for the rezoning of a 1.64 acre tract of land known as Block 14A, Southwood Valley Section 19, College Station, Brazos County, Texas; WHEREAS, the above-described property is currently zoned C-1 General Commercial and the current use is vacant land; WHEREAS, the owner of the above-described property, Tony Jones, has applied for the rezoning of the above-described property to R-4 ApartmenULow Density; WHEREAS, the City Council. of the City of College Station, Texas, heard evidence as to the location of.. the property southeast of FM 2818 between Southwood Drive and Hilltop Drive; WHEREAS, evidence was presented concerning the general development in the area over the last several years; WHEREAS, evidence was presented that the proposed zoning change is in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the' City of College Station, Texas has concluded that the development taking place in this area is a changed condition that makes the subject property more suited to Apartment/Low Density; NOV\(, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS,. that the above-described property is hereby rezoned from C-1 General Commercial to R-4 Apartment/Low Density, effective immediately.
