Driveways for the of referenced above are requested as shown by the attached
drawing.
As discussed with Mr. Ed Hard, we are aware that a much desired driveway onto
the Texas Avenue access road is completely unacceptable to the City of College
Station. Therefore, the proposed configuration is requested in order to render the
existing lot commercially useable.
Two driveways are. proposed in .order to provide acceptable internal traffic
circulation. East driveway placement is in alignment with an existing driveway
across Deacon Street.. The opposing driveway is the second. curb cut from Texas
Avenue. West driveway placement is located to provide opportunity for future
alignment of an addition driveway on the opposing side of .Deacon Street. Two
driveways for the referenced lot .are considered reasonable and appropriate since
there are three existing driveways on the opposing side of Deacon and at least one
additional driveway will probably be approved for development.
Even though the prescribed .separation distance from a major thoroughfare is not
met by the .proposed driveway placement, we request approval based upon an
appropriate configuration that is compatible with driveways on the opposing side of
Deacon Street, and based upon the hardship imposed by driveway criteria that was
established after the subdivision was platted.

Dear Pat,
Attached please find the application for. driveway relocation for the Homestead Savings Bank
entrance, along with a,full size site plan for your review.
While the new driveway location does not meet the strict. application ofour Ordinance, it was
approved by our Planning -and Zoning Commission on Thursday, April 7th due to the benefit
derived by getting the stacking for. the bank motor lanes ouf of Texas Avenue and into the onsite
parking area.

to require any .changes, maintenance or repairs as may be necessary to provide protection of life or property on or adja-
cent to the highway.: Changes. in design. will be made only with approval of .the State.
4. The Grantee shall hold harmless the State and its duly appointed agents and employees against any action for personal
injury or property. damage sustained by reason of the exercise of this permit.
5. The Grantee shall not erect any sign on or extending over any portion of the highway right of way, and vehicle service
fixtures such as service pumps, vender stands, or tanks shall be located at least twelve (12) feet from the right-of-way.

The City of College Station hereby. authorizes the construction on public right-of--way for
development of access o your property which abuts 2551 South Texas Avenue- _
provided you agree to and comply with the following conditions:

2. Maintenance of facilities constructed hereunder shall be the responsibility of the property
owner, and the City reserves the .right to require .any changes, maintenance or repairs as
may be necessary to provide protection of life or property on' or adjacent to the public
right-of--way.- Changes in design-will be made only with approval of the City Engineer.
3. The owner shall .hold. harmless the City and its duly appointed agents and employees
against any action for personal injury or property .damage sustained by reason of the
exercise of the permit.
The City of College Station will assist as follows:
Aid in coordination of variance application for driveway spacing.
This permit shall not be valid until owner signs-the statement in which he agrees to comply with
the conditions herein. The City Engineer should ire contacted at least twenty-four (24;) hours
before beginning the work authorized by this permit:
