Please consider this a formal request for a variance to the driveway spacing
1 requirements for the above referenced .project... The proposed driveway is located on
Deacon Drive between the ;intersection of Texas Ave. & Longmire Drive on the
northwest side of the- street'. Two existing commercial dr•i~evvays exist. on the
~'
adjoining side and one bn the opposite side. The proposed driveway is centered
betweer-i the two adjacent .drives with a spacing of_approximateiy 100 .feet on each
side. The opposite drive serves an alley at the rear of a number of apartment
buiidings along Longmire and is spaced at 100 feet as well. The proposed driveway
is the only direct means>of accessing a public street and though there is a rear alley,
it is not adequate or convenient for the majority of the customers for .this
development.
