As requested, please find attached the rezoning ordinance for the 11.876 acre tract
located at the corner of FM 2818 and FM 2154. The Applicants are Edsel Jones and
O.D. Butler.

ITEM: Public hearing and consideration of a rezoning of 11.88 acres located on the southeast
corner of the intersection ofFM 2818 and Wellborn Road from R-l Single Family to C-l General
Commercial. Application is in the name of Edsel D, Jones. (94-123)
ITEM SUMMARY: The request in compliance with the Land Use Plan, which shows retail
commercial for the subject property with more commercial to the east and high density residential
to the south. The interim use on the property will be a golf driving range, until a permanent
commercial user develops the site.
STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval. The Planning and Zoning
Commission recommends approval by a unanimous vote.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY: N/A
CITY ATTORNEY RECOMMENDATIONS: No concerns expressed.
COUNCIL ACTION DESIRED: Approval or denial of request.
