NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING:
The College Station City Council will hold a public hearing to consider an appeal
of the Planning and Zoning Commission's decision to grant a conditional use
permit to Charles K. Piper, Jr. to operate a nightclub at 1912 Texas Avenue.
The hearing will be held in the Council Room of the College Station City Hall,
1101 Texas Avenue at the 7:00 p.m. meeting of the Council on Thursday,
February 11, 1993.
Any request for sign interpretive services for the hearing impaired must be made
48 hours before the meeting. To make arrangements call (409) 764-3547 or

Re: Appeal of a conditional use permit granted for Charlie's Nightclub located
at 1912 Texas Avenue
NOTICE OF PUBUC HEARING
This is to notify you that the College Station City Council will hold a public
hearing to consider an appeal of the Planning and Zoning Commission's decision
to grant a conditional use permit to Charles K. Piper, Jr. to operate a nightclub
in the old Mitsubishi car dealership located on the northwest corner of Holleman
and Texas Avenue, 1912 Texas Avenue.
A public hearing was held .on Thursday, December 17, 1992 in which the
Commission was not able to make a decision. At this meeting, only 6 of the 7
commissioners were present and the motion to deny the use permit failed by a
vote of 3 to 3. A second public hearing was held on Thursday, January 7, 1993
to reconsider the conditional use permit request. The Commission granted the
conditional use permit by a vote of 4 to 3, with several conditions. (See attached
conditions of approval.)
The City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the appeal on Thursday,
February 11, 1993 in the Council Room of the College Station City Hall, 1101
Texas Avenue at 7:00 P.M.
All property owners within 200' of the subject property have received notification
of this request.
