are zoned C-1 where th%s use is allowed. Where this occurs (because the Overlay
District is intended to enhance the areas where applied) these special restrictions
are being recommended by staff as a way to mitigate some of .the unsightly effects

applied. If you will recall, the City has retained consultants who are working.. on

when they presented you with a draft Streetscape Plan . In essence, this
amendment is the first step in irnplementatlon of a treetscape plan. ~n an effort
to sans 'the intent.. of the recommendations expressed by he .consultants, staff

Previously, the. draft required one- canopy tree and two crape , o

The draft now specifies the type of canopy tree (water oak} and

points fog every 50 feet of frontage.
