Honorable Mayer and City Council, The undersigned oppose the. use of the lot-bordered by Glade;. Southwest: Parkway, and.Laura Lane for the purpose of a Masonic Library/Museum. The reasons for this opposition are numerous. We understand that in order to grant a Conditional tJse Permit,. three criteria ~u~t be met as set firth. in ZONING (7RDINANCE # 163 ,section 14c, The second criteria reads, "That the ~ropased' use meets the.. ~urpvse ancf intent of this ordinance and is in harmony with the development policies and gals and objectives as embodied in the Comprehensive Flan for Development of the City." The third criteria reads; "That the proposed use will not be detrimental Ro: the health, welfare, and safety of the surrounding neighborhood or its occupants, nor be substantially or permanently injurious to neighboring property." Below are the reasons we feel the second and third criteria are NOT:MET' by the proposed Masonic Library/Museum, and why we would like you to DENY the Conditional Use Aermit which was granted by the Planning and Zoning Commission on March 21, 1991 regarding item 91-701. ~e believe that a h~asonic Library/~iuseu m accompanied by a large parr '~~ 'i lot will have ~ seriousl adverse effect can the value of the surroundn property. .All of the 1~ts in this area. are currently zo~~d I~E~II~ENTIAL.
