Y Senior Planner Kee informed he Commission of the hi tor~y and F use of the proposed Library and Museum. She recommended the approval of a conditohal use rather than requiring C-1 k zoning. `The list .af Conditional Uses in the Zoning Ordinance includes community buildings, publis libraries and chuz~ches. Private fraternal 1`odges are lusted as a permitted use in the €: C-1 General Commercial District. ~, F Pete Normand, a repre entative of the Brazos Valley Masonic f'~, Library and Museum Association, informed the Commission o~f the k' intentional use of the facility. The structure will b'e more `! residential in style with three. major meeting rooms, that will contain books and museum cases. Meetings. will be educational in nature ouch a planetarium shows, laser light displays, etc. The library will contain information on Free: Masonry and.. its roll. in western culture, archaeology, mathematicsy and operative Masonry. Chairperson ~Sawtelle stated that she wanted it to be clear that the establishment will be 1a library and museum and not a fraternity hall.
