I am applying for a`conditional u e permit to :use my home at 3000 Cochse
Court a a registered family home. As a home registered by the state, I may
care for six preschool and six school age children. My hours of operation are
7;30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m Because I haves partner who cares for the children in
her home half of the time, my home will be used for day care two days per week
during part of he school year and three days in the other weeks. I do no
operate on weekends or during the summer...
The children arrive at: my home between 1:30; a.m. and g:30 a.m., and
depart between{4:00 p.-m. and_5:30 p.m. Because of this variation in arrival
and departure times, it is rare for more than two cars to be at my houise at
the same time to drop off or pick-up children. Also, because I live c+n a
corner lot bordering on Deacon Drive, I have only one side neighbor. My
backyard fence is separated from the fence of my backyard neighbor by
approximately 30 feet, with a drainage ditch in between. As .shown on the
attached site plan, my driveway is on the Deacon Street side of the house,
separating it from the side neighbor's yard. The children are allowedl to play
in my backyard (enclosed by a se en foot pxivacy fence), on my driveway, and
inside my home. They do not play in my front yard or in the street.
This is my fourth year to provide day care as a registered family home.
Prior to this year I l-ived at 11::05 Todd Trail in College S ation. I have
never head a complaint from ane:ghbor regarding the way I conduct my day care
service. I have chosen to postpone my career as an eleaaentary school teacher
to care for my own preschool children a well as to offer day care services to
parents who prefer an "in home'" setting_to commercial care. I know this is a
sought-af.ter. service because every year my partner and I` have more
applications than openings. I hope. to con roue as a regis ered family home
care giver, and therefore request that you grant me a conditional use permit
to do so.
