(91-200} A Presubmsson Conference meeting was held Wednesday, Januar~r 30, 1991_ to discuss the above mentioned Final Plat. The following comments were made by the various reviewing agents:. Application for Revie~ and Approval 6. .Plat copy a. .~ i Application of-Transportation P anning Standards. - Appl ing the e standards, the continuous s reet resulting from the extension of Barthelow Street to Hol eman at Village Street would functionally serve as a minor collector street in terms of the follow g: 1..} Somewhat limited accessibility-; 2.).:Continuity and length; 3.} Anticipated traffic volumes; and;, 4.) Land uses served. Typical spacings fora collector and local streets are one- fourth mi a and 300 feet, respectively. If Barthelow was extended to Holleman ~ @ Vill-age} to nerve as a minor collector, tree pacing on Holleman Street would be consistent with these general standards. The Barthelow Street extension would provide needed residential access and mobility especial y when considering the existing density and number of dwelling units combined with the additional dwelling un s planned for the new development. Consideration of the City's Thorough-fare Plan - currently, Barthelow is: a dead-ended local street which i not in accordance with the City's Thoroughfare Plan or the general policy of the City for street development. The Cty_of College Station's Thoroughfare Plan reflects approximate locations for future arterial and collector streets. This plan is schematic in nature, identifying major routes or corridors for future s reefs. Local streets, or residential streets, are note depicted on he Thoroughfare Plan.. but are addressed during the development review process... The specific locations and: alignments of all streets are typically identified during the development review process. Consideration of Emergency :Vehicle Accessibility - The extension of Barthelow Street to Holleman would allow for better access to both the proposed deve opment and the existing dwelling un s along(Barthelow Drive. The response time to the new development on the Polarbek tract for emergency vehic-les responding from Fire Station 2 located in south College Station would be lessened if Barthelow were to be extended.
