Texas Avenue INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM TO; Elrey B. ash,: Director of Development Services ~~~ FROM: David J. Pullen, City Engine DATE: 08 august 1990 RE: GREEN'S WORLD FINAL PLAT -OVERSIZE PARTICIPATION - WATER LINE The above Final plat will be discussed at the Pre-submission Conference August 8. This p at will require the extension of an 18" waterline along.SH ~: The preliminary estimate for the line is ~ 6G, 000.00. The developer is requesting City participation of more than 30 0 ~ about 5 6 0) . Our Subdivision Ordinance regarding the responsibility to pay the cost of water supply is attached. Items 9 - C.1 through 9 - C.3 have been met. We have determined that a 10" line is required to serve this property with fire protection . The l8" water line is required to serve the area beyond this plat. Since some negotiation may be required as to what an "appropriate" :participation might be, I suggest the over ize consideration be `placed before 'the appropriate council committee for initial discussion. This isthe precedent set with Emerald Forest `s expansion. If you believe this to be the appropriate course, the scheduling o~ a meeting would. be appropriate. If not:, I-will recommend tn.e percentage difference between a 10" and ~.8" pipeline for council action , We estimate that to be 56 ~ . ' Public bidding of this project will be required if Council agree to more than 30~. I believe development of the east side of SH 6 wild be stimulated by the insta lotion of the water -line and that water sales to this area over .the next 20 years .will repay the investment' and main-taro `the line ~ The savings of installing a smaller line now-and a larger line later will be far exceeded by increase in construction costs in my opinion .
