The request is to rezone 0.95 acres from_ R-4 Apartments-Low Density to R-1 Single Fa~ilyResidential; 0.14 acres from R--1 Sin~l~; Family Resdentia to R-4 Apartments Low Dens'itp; 0.38?-acres from C-N Neighborhood Business to R-4 Apartments Law Density; aid, 0.32 acres frog R-4Apartments Low Density `to C-H Neighborhood Business. Applicant is-w. D. Fitch. Mr. Moore arrived. -Mrs. Fee made a slide presentation of the subject area and gave he staff report simuitaneflusly. She described _the physical features of each of the small tracts,: reported on area Zoning and uses,:and informed the Commission that the entire area is reflected as lo~,r density residential on the adopted Land Use Plan. She explained that the~chan~es are being requested to align zoning boundaries with existing and proposed development, and that the proposed changes are in: compliance with bath the land use.glan and existing and proposed development. PARD Director Steve Beachy accepted the proclamation signed and -read by Mayor. Ringer. Agenda Item No. `6 -Presentation of Appreciation Certificates to the Pola Club Apartments and the Wings N~ Things Restaurant, from the City of College Station and the CoYlege Station Communi~ Appearance Committee.,: Community Appearance Committee Chairman Marci Rodgers and Mayor Ringer pre ented a;Certificate of Appreciation to: Mr. Al Lehtonen, owner of the Polo Club Apartments. Also a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded Mr. and Mrs. ,Mark Dennard, owners of Wings N'Thngs Restaurant, who were unable to a tend the meeting. (tract 2} rezone vacant unp atted .14 acres from R-1 to R-4. (tract 3} rezone vacant unplatted .38 acres from C-N to R--4. (tract 4) rezone vacant unplatted .32 acres from R-4 to C-N. Applicant: W.D. Fitch X89-104 : zoning Official Kee explained this item. She stated that the zoning in the area generally consists of R-1 single family. There is also vacant R-4 zoning which is the location of a proposed retirement facility. She presented slides showing different views of the site. Councilman Birdwell moved approval of ordinance No. 1807 rezoning 4 tracts of land in the Southwood Valley Section 2~. Councilman S~hneider_seconded the motion, which carried unanimously- 6°'0. Ms. Kee described the subject tract area zoning and land use. She presented slides showing the tract and the adjacent properties. The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended the rezoning of this tract. Mayor Ringer opened the pub is hearing.
