I have reviewed the access drive.. to :the pro used Taco Cabana

Restaurant located south of Live .Oak Street on Texas Ave. Loo

507). I believe its proximity to Live .Oak Street could creato
a .hazard for those traveling Texas Aire. and therefore the bes t
interest of the .public would be to deny access.

The P.R.C. met on this date tc~ review the ~.bove mentioned project,
and did not approve thepropo~ed project due to the location and
number of acees~s drivea~s aloha Teas Avenue.. City Engineer
Pullen stated that them is not sufficient frontage on Texas
Avenue to consider and access drivewa~rs directly to the site, and
should the applicant~e} desire additional eonaideration of the
site plan cc~neidered nt this moeting, a request for a variance
should be made b~ the applicant{~} to the City Oouncil. City
Engineer Pullen s.~vsed the applicants} that he would not approve
or support. the drivewa~r loc~ti~ne a~ shown on the subject plan.
Other...staff members re~ie~ed the plan and the fellnwin~
recommendations were jade;
~l} Building official Pere dad no problems with the plan as
proposed.
~~} Electrical Superintendent He~ens requested an island or
boll~rd~ to be placed tc~ ~rote~t the utility pale on the site.
~3} Laverne ~A.kin of GTE stated that 1- ~~} conduit will be
rewired at a location Weer the electric service to the building.
~4} Planning Assistant Johnson stated that proposed landscaping
will ~e adequate.
~5} dean Re~is~er of Lone star Cas asked that the applicants}
coordinate requirements pith him.
~~} Fire Inspector Spain indicated he has nn problems with. the
proposal.
~7~ .Assistant Director of Public Services Le~eau instructed
the applieant~~} td cdordinate loeation and number of dumgsters
with Jim Smith at his office in the ~,~erehou~se. The elevation of
the dumpster gad must~be the ~~~~ as the drivin~~ surface.
~$} Uirectbr of Planning Cell~.wa~ stated that if seating is to be
included on the patio, the area devoted to eutd~oor seating should
not exceed the excess number of par~in~ egacea,provided. X1/75 sq.ft.}
~~} The sign a~ ~r~pose~ is lamer than allowed by~ ordinance.
`Based ~n the frcnts.~e of the lot a~lon~ Teas Avenue and the
eetbac~ proposed, the sign must be linvited t~ 1,~~ sq.ft.
Flo} Design Inspection Supervisor Riley water ~ Sewer} asked the
applicants} t~ ccnr~dinate the location of whter and suer service
with his department. He stated ghat the e~isti,ng service is in
the driveway along Teas Avenue, and if it is not .used, he would
like to eliminate that line. -
~ll} Cite En~ine~r.Pullen stated that the location of the access
to the site from Live oak is leas than normal requirements from
Texas avenue, but-in this particular instance, it :would be
acceptable due to the constraints of the site.
~12~ Drainage Plan submittal R~~~irements were furnished to the
applicants}. Comglis.nee is required.
The site/landscape plan as pr~po~ed has not been. approved by
the P.R.C. due primaril~r to the feet that access as shown on
.Teas Avenue dies not meet the minimum spaeing re~,u`irement of the
Driveway Access Poliey. should-the applicant desire a variance
to the Driveway Access~.Policy enfnr~ed by the City Engineer,
application should be made to the City Council. Contact the City
secretary's effce to be placed. on the next available s.~enda for
a City Council meeting. If the applicant decides t;o revise the
plan to more nearly meet the City's requirements, please submit
to copies of tho r~yised glen to the Flannin~ Division b~ noon on
any Friday, and additional review b~ the: P.R.C. wi~.l be scheduled
for the following ~`ed~e~day.
