ABOVE ITEMS MUST BE RECEIVED IN PLANNING DEPARTMENT AT LEAST 20 DAYS PRIOR TO PLANNING
AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING. REGULAR COMMISSION MEETINGS ARE HELD THE FIRST AND
THIRD THURSDAYS OF EACH MONTH.
If a petition for rezoning is denied by either the Commission or the Council, another
application for rezoning shall not be filed within a period of 180 days from the date
of denial, except with the permission of the Commission or upon initiation by the City.

Ordinance No. 850 (the Zoning Ordinance) requires the applicant to furnish the
following information:
(1) List the changed or changing conditions in the area or in the City which
make this zone change necessary.
Presently there are no areas designated and designed specifically for fraternity
use. The qrowth of off-campus fraternities.ha.s.created a need for such development.
The proDQsed tract. is undeveloped as is surounding land, . thus problems such as
safety, traffic controll and nuisance can be addressed accordingly. The present
zoning. is adequate to accorrmodate the density requirements, however fraternity
construction is not a conditional use in this zone.
(2) Indicate whether or not this zone change is in accordance with the Comprehensive
Plan. If it is not, explain why the Plan is incorrect.
The zone chanqe is qenerallv in accordance with the comprehensive
plan.

(3) List lany other reasons to support this zone change.
The areas that are prese;ntJy 7.onpn f'or.fraternities are qenerally in
areas that are congested or of inadequate size. This tract is large
