9. The revised si teplan, dated 9-22-85, which was approved by
the City of Gollege Station, indicates three handicapped
spaces on the east end "of the main entrance which aredimen-
sinned at 44'-011 J or.14'-SIl per space; the four handicapped spaces
at thefrontwtll be dimensioned on the record drawings at 121-011 .
each. There wi 11 be no parkedcarsa't the rear of any of these spaces.
The asphalt paving at the front entrance, under the canopy will
be brought up to the sidewalk level for the full 201-011 width
providing handicapped accessibility.
10. Pub]i ctoilet fac; Ii ties (Rooms 4 and 227} will be fully equi pped
for handicapped usage.
11. The water fountains in Rooms 2 and 134 will be installed to the
required handicapped standards.
12. The pay telephone in Room 1, Vestibule will be installed to the

Dear Mr. Hartmann:

Please. fmd the following concerns, items that would need to. be addressed to revise your. parking lot and
parking lot entrance:
Fire truck accessibility would be prevented from reaching the north comer of your building without a
proper turn around; your present.proposal would eliminate' 5 parking. spaces, including a van accessible
handicap space; points for landscape requirements would need to be recalculated to meet our subdivision
requirements.
The comments above.will require a.more thorough engineer.redesign. Bridgette George, here at
Development Services, should be contacted to set up a Predevelopment Meeting to discuss a full
proposal with staff representatives. If you have any' questions feel free to contact me at 979-764-

Our Fire Marshall concluded that the closing of their middle driveway on University Drive would
compromise the maneuverability of fire trucks and access to the northeast corner of their building. Looking
at the total picture, they would · have to reconfiguretheirparking . lot.
We believe that plans andreview cannot be completed in such a short period at this time. Therefore, after
visiting with Rob Hartmann yesterday, I have written him a . letter to this effect.
