WHEREAS,HB-1952requiresa plan of service<be adopted by the governing body of a city prior to passage of an ordinance annexing ,,'an 'area. WHEREAS"theCl,-ty ,0, f ,Co,llege Station is contemplating annexation of an area bounded "as follows: SEE EXHIBIT "A" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGESTATION,TEXAS: Section 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Article 970a, Vernon's TexasCivilStatues,asamended,byHB-1952, there is hereby adopted, for the area bounded as described in Exhibit "A", the following, plan of service: a. Police (1) Patrol.ing, radio responses to calls, and other routine police serVices, us ingpr,esentpersonnel and equipment, will be provided on ",thee'ffectivedate of annexation. (2) Additional p()lice perso.nnel >and patrol cars will be added to co.ntinue the present level o.f police services throughout the city, including the newly annexed areas as required. (3) Tr,affic signals, ,traffic signs , street mark ings ,and other traffic control devices will be installed as the needthereforaisestabli~hed by appropriate study and traffic standards. b. Emer gencyMedica' 1 Service (1) No additional equipment or personnel will be required to serve the expanded City. d. Water (1) The water distribution system for this area is in place. e. Sewers (1) The sanitary sewer collection system for this area is in place. No additiooalfacilities will be required. f. Electrical (1) Initial Electrical Service to tbisareawill be provided from t'he existing syst~mwithinthe City. g. Refuse Collection (1) The same refuse collection service provided within "the City will be provided int.hisare.a in accordance with the policy and ord inance>sof thee ity. h. Streets (1) Emergency mai'ntenance ,o,f;the, existing streets (repa i r of hazardous chuck holes'.llleasures necessary for trafficflow,etc.)willbegin on the effective date of annexation. Wher~prior planning stud ies.have been conducted on specific parcels, permanent zoning maybe established upon the effective date of annexation if requested by the property owners or initiated by the City Council. k. Street Lighting Street lights will be installed in substantially developed commercial andresidentialareasunder the standards currently prevailing i,n th.eexisting city .and in accordance with the policies and ordinances of the City. 1. Recreation Residents of the annexed area 'may use all existing recreational facilities, parks,etc. on the effective date of a'nnex'ation. Tbesame standards and policies now used in the present city will be followed in expanding the recreational program and. facilities in the enlarged city. Miscellaneous (1) .Streetnamesigns where needed will be installed within (;ipproximately thirty (30) months after the effective date of annexation. j . . .
