" page 2 Sign Regulations General: All signs shall conform to the requirements of the Building Code and this ordinance. No sign shal1.be erected, constructed, or placed within the City of College Station without a building permit except 'as herein spec ifled. Allappli cat i onsfor perm its shall be accompanied by pl ans and drawings sufficient to determine the exact location, height, area, and dimensions of the proposed sign. For detailed information of the classi- fications shown in quotation marks, refer to the Building Code. B,~,.-K. (2) All signs in use on the effective date of this ordinance, that are incompl iancewith the requirements of this ordinance and the Building Code, are required to have a permit as required in the Building Code, within a period of six (6) months. g.c,...~. TEMPORARY SIGNS: One (1) temporary sign pertaining>to "the lease, rental., or sale of premises or structure located thereon is permitted inall districts when lo.cated on such premises or structure. Such signs shall not bel ighted and shall not. exceed fifteen (15). square feet in area. SUBDIVISION IDENTIFICATION SIGN: 'One (1) sign identifying a legally approved landsubdivlsion and all subsequent sections thereof may be placed on property of the subdivision along each thoroughfare or major street abutting the subdivision, if not more than one hundred and fifty (15Q) square feet in area, to identify the name of the '>;.:11~.", , subdivisio(}~:6nly. It may be indirectly 1 ighted, but must have no / flashing or moving parts. The height of the subdivision identification sign. is not to exceed the maximum height allowed in the district in which it i sl 0 ca t e d. Subdivision identification signs may be placed within street rights- of-way within the subdivision. Locations within street rights-of-way must be approved by the City. Engineer. Sign Regulations Directional. Signs may be utilized as traffitcontrol devices in off-street parking a t r:; areas. Such signs sha 11 not exceed three (3) square feet in area. PROH I B I TED SIGNS: No balloons or other gas filled objects, banners, pennants, streamers, or flags other than those of a nation, state or political subdivision, shall be placed within the City of College Station. e,'-',. J;r( SPECIAL DISTRI.CTSIGN REQUIREMENTS: #IH;/0' RESIDENT~';DISTRICTS: A person having a legal home occupation may disitl"ay a nameplate on the face of the building or porch. The nameplate may contain only the name and the occupation of the resident. It shall be attached directly to, and parallel to the face of ,the bu il d i ngor porc'h. I t shall not exceed two (2) square feet in area, shall not be illuminated in anyway, and shall project not more than six (6) inches beyond the building or porch. No permit is required. f,~,~(,,21' RESIDENTIAL DISPLAY: Display of merchandise or examples of work is classified as a sign, and is not permitted in any residential district, except on approved non-conforming property where legally permissible. IS. ., ,v / 1,#,4, M MOBILE HOME PARK DISTRICTS: A "Ground Sign" or "Wall Sign'l of not more than one hundred (100) square feet total area may be erected on the property of the mobile home park, and maybe indirectly lighted; however, it shall have no flashing 1 ights or moving parts" and no IISpectacular Signsll may be installed. See Building Code for permit requirements. No sign or any part thereof shall be located within ten (10) feet of any public street or Right-of-v/ay. This is also applicable to mobile home parks inP..U.D. IS. g.~,( W NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS AND ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONAL DISTRICTS: Signs when attached to buildings shall advertise only services or products which are o-fferedwithin the building to which the sign is attached, and such signs shall not extend above the roof line of such buildings, or more than one (1) foot from the face of the building. No flashing or moving signs are permitted and nO,IISpecta- cularSignsll are permitted. No detached signs or billboards are permitted.
