Proposal wastQdefer'plan-tlngtrees aleRg driveway and in parking lot until January
due to drought conditions in October.
Ray Martyn thinks trees along the dri've andi'n the parking lot should not be planted
untIl w'inter, as no watering system is included in the plans and he believes the trees
wTll die if planted inOctober'due to lack of maintenance.
Al M9yo chinks this may set a precedent and hesitates to extend the planting requirements
past Oct;oper~ He' suggested instead that water lines and hose bibs get installed along
the drlve to mElke malntel1anCe of trees more convenie'nt.
RlckPloeger suggest ,1300 ,that the water 1 inesand hose bibs are done now, as they
w'l11 be necessary-in the near future as the trees will require large quantities of
water 'fer a per rod of at least 3 years~
MacGilvray agreed witbMaye> andPleeger!
MacG~'lvrclY' and Mayo then said if agreement was reached to wait until January to plant,
a trade should be made: i ~e~,larger caliper trees (balled and burlapped) for the
1~ caLi'per contalner'trees, suggestlng perhaps 311130 4" .live oaks.
MartY'fl was agalnst these suggestions t
May~a9reed that. If any number-s or sizes a~gr~R~~~gd;oabfevised plan must be brought
in for revlew'. Den. Aust'ln agreed to.bring in a color coded plan for further review
so staff can see exactly what is being planned, and exactly when the planting of each
specific tree is planned It
