The posted speed limit on .. SouthKy~ehasbeen reduced from 30. to 25 MPH, primarilybecause.of>the short dis'- tance.fromthecurve in the street to the stop>sign>.onDominik. The. driveway. was p~rmitted in the original.sitepla.nreluctantly because it was felt it would be primarily used for access to the back of the building. and therefore traffic flow would be minimal. Also it was required to be posted "No Left Turn" out of <the driveway to further reduce the potential for serious vehicle accidents. Data from our traffic records since the drive has been opened does not positively identify the number o.r type of accidents wh.ich might . have involved vehicles using the drive. This is because of ,the coding used to identify the location of accidents references street intersections and not driveways. I. am not personally aware of any accidents nor has my> office been asked to evaluate any traffic problems inthisareawhichmayhaveresul- ted from accidents. has proposed an alteration to the <drive as shown.. on the dr.awing. His intent is to imped~thel.eftturnmove- mentsoutof the drive sufficiently to eliminate most of them.
