RE: Driveway Access at Texas Avenue/Deaton/Frantage Raad Hwy. 6
Dear Mr. Haney:'
After reviewing the praJectpresentedtame by yaurself and Mr. Cruse, I
have determined that it is essentially the Same project previausly
presented t.atheCity/withrespecttadri veway access. As yaureca 11 th i s
praject was revie.wed by the P.raject Revi.ew Cammittee an May 19, 1982. I am
enc 1 as i ng a capyof< th at repartfar your infarmati an and .wau 1 d refer yau to.
Items No.1 and. 2re~ardingdriveway>acce~sfar this praject. The lacatian
af the Texas Avenue~ccesspaintremainsacceptable. This access shauld
funct i an with mi nimalconflictwQen thelntersecti an at Deacan/Frantage .
Raad and Texas Avenueissignalized as planned in 1986. It is my
understanding thatfundJng has b~enappraved farthe signalizatian. As to.
the access to. the Frantage Raad, I wauldrec;arnmend that it be relacated to.
a paint at least 300 feetfram the Texas Avenue intersectian. In my
apinian this is ne.cessaryta insurereasanable traffic flaw far the right
turning mavement from yaur drive when theintersectian is signalized.
Mr. D. D. Williamsan, 'Planning Engineer, District 17 af Texas Dept. ,af
Highways and Public Transportation has informed the City that plans are
being co. n side red tarelacate the ramp f aci 11 ty toward Mile Drive. In my
judgment that actian wauldaccur simultaneausly with the traffic
signalization af the Frontage Raad/TexasAvenue!Deacan Street
intersection.
