AN ORDINANCE REZONING A 9.000 ACRE TRACT OR PARCEL OF LAND LYING AND BEING SITUATED IN THE CRAWFORD BURNETT LEAGUE, ABSTRACT NO.7, BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, AND ALSO BEING A PORTION OF A CALLED 37.06 ACRE TRACT CONVEYED TO GEORGE MC CULLOCH BY H.E.BURGESS AND DANIEL RUSSEL BY DEED RECORDED IN VOLUME 133, PAGE 560 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS, SAID 37.06 ACRE TRACT ALSO BEING THAT SAME TRACT FORMERLY PLAT- TED AS GEORGE MC CULLOCH'S INDUSTRIAL AREA, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS AND BEING RECORDED IN VOLUME 138, PAGE 345 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF BRAZOS COUNTY, TEXAS AND BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM HEAVY INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT M-2 TO APARTMENTS MEDIUM DENSITY DISTRICT R-5. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS: WHEREAS, the City Council held a publ ic hearing in the City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, on the question of rezoning certain areas within the city limits; AND, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the following: To rezone or change the classification of the following 9.000 acre tract of land lying and being situated in the Crawford Burnett League in College Station, Brazos County, Texas and being more fully described by metes and bounds as follows: COMMENCING at an iron rod marking the most Northerly corner of the former subdivision, said iron rod also marking the intersection of the Southeast right-of-way line of Luther Street with the Southwest right-of-way line of the . Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way; THENCE S 260521 44" E - along the Southwest right-of-way 1 ine of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way 1 ine and the Northeast property 1 ine of the former George McCulloch's Industrial Area for a distance of 1479.64 feet to a point, said point also being in the South right-of-way line of the proposed Holleman Drive Extension right-of-way; THENCE S 620 341 3411 W along the South right-of-way line of the proposed Holleman Drive Extension right-of-way for a distance of 288.43 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING; . THENCE S 190 15' 00" E for a distance of 1236.41 feet for a corner, said corner also being in the Northwest right-of-way 1 ine of the Southern Pacific Railroad wye right-of-way; THENCE S 630 261 44" W along the aforesaid Northwest right-of-way of the Southern Pacific Railroad wye for a distance of 320.52 feet for a corner, said corner also lying on the Northeast right-of-way line of the abandoned I. &G.N. Railroad right-of-way; THENCE N 190 151 00" W along the aforesaid I. &G.N. Railroad right-of-way 1 ine for a distance of 1224.37 feet for a corner, said corner also being in the South right-of-way 1 ine of the proposed Holleman Drive Extension right-of-way, said corner also making the beginning of a curve concave to the Southeast; THENCE along said curve also being the South right-of-way line of the proposed Holleman Drive Extension, for a distance of 114.29 feet for a corner, (curve data: central angle = 70 041 48", radius = 924.93 feet, ~ . tangent = 57.22 feet, the chord bears N 590 021 1011 E for a distance of 114.22 feet); THENCE N 620 341 3411 E along the South right-of-way line of the proposed Holleman Drive Extension for a distance of 208.20 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING and containing 9.000 acres of land more or less from Heavy Industrial District M-2 to Apartments Medium Density District R-5.
