GENERAL NOTES
ALL CONSTRUCTION TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND CITY OF COLLEGE
STATION STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
2 PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE CERTAIN THAT
ALL REQUIRED PERMITS AND APPROVALS HAVE BEEN OBTAINED. NO CONSTRUCTION
OR FABRICATION SHALL BEGIN UNTIL THE CONTRACTOR HAS RECEIVED AND THOROUGHLY
REVIEWED ALL PLANS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS APPROVED BY ALL OF THE PERMITTING
AU THORI TIES.
3. BARRICADING. TRAFFIC CONTROL AND PROJECT SIGNS SHALL CONFORM TO "STATE
DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BARRICADING AND
CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS" AND THE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION SPECIFICATIONS.
4 THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUB-CONTRACTORS SHALL VERIFY THE SUITABILITY
OF ALL EXISTING AND PROPOSED SITE CONDITIONS INCLUDING GRADES AND DIMENSIONS
BEFORE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION. THE ENGINEER SHALL BE NOTIFIED
IMMEDIATELY OF ANY DISCREPANCIES.
5. THE LOCATION OF UNDERGROUND UTILITIES SHOWl\J ON THIS PLAN ARE BASED ON FIELD
SURVEYS AND LOCAL UTILITY COMPANY RECORDS. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S FULL
RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THE VARIOUS UTILITY COMPANIES TO LOCATE THEIR
UTILITIES PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL EXISTING INVERTS AND RIM ELEVATIONS PRIOR
TO CONSTRUCTION.
7. ALL PROPOSED CONTOURS ARE APPROXIMATE. PROPOSED SPOT ELEVATIONS AND
DESIGNA TED GRADIENT ARE TO BE USED IN THE EVENT OF ANY DISCREPANCIES.
8. FOR AREA DRAIN LOCATIONS AND GRATE ELEVATIONS, SEE LANDSCAPE PLAN.
9. ALL STORM SEWER PIPE 18" TO 24" SHALL BE CLASS III RCP OR ALUMINIZED TYPE II
SPIRAL RIB STEEL PIPE. EMBEDMENT SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SD-8
10. ALL STORM SEWER PIPE LESS THAN 18" SHALL BE PVC SDR-35. OR APPROVED EOUAl
11. ALL PVC TO SO CONNECTIONS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED WITH CONCRETE COLLARS
12. TRENCH EXCAVATION FOR TRENCHES 5 FEET OR MORE IN DEPTH SHALL BE IN
ACCORDANCE CITY OF COLLEGE STATION STANDARD DETAILS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
13 ALL STORM SEWER PIPE WITH RADIUS LESS THAN 100 FEET SHALL USE 4 FOOT
JOINTS WITH BEVELED ENDS.

SEWER SYSTEM.
