CITY OF COLLEGE STATION P 0 S T 0 F F ICE BOX 9 96 0 1101 TEXAS AVENUE COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS 77840 MEMORANDUM TO: Planning and Zoning Commission Timothy Keneipp Larry Landry FROM: Project Review Committee: Al Mayo, City Planner Elrey Ash, City Engineer Don Sweeney, Planning and Zoning Commission SUBJECT: Project Review: Apartment Complex in Southwood Valley Section 2 The P.R.C. met with Mr. Landry on Wednesday, July 27, 1977 to review the plans for this 152 unit apartment project. Basically, we recommend approval of the permit with the following suggestions: 1. The turnaround at the end of the parking lot drive along the south side of phase I should be designated as a fire lane to prohibit parking. 2. An additional 2 or 3 fire hydrants will be needed to comply with the ord- inance. ( all buildings must be within 300 feet of a hydrant as the hose lays) 3. There should be 15 feet minimum clearance between all parts of all build- ings, including stairwells. 4. The radius on the drive near Southwood Drive at the two 6 yard trash dumpsters should be enlarged to allow better manuverability for trash vehicles. 5. We would strongly urge Mr. Landry to construct the proposed frontage road and take access off of it instead of Southwood and Shennandoah for the large parking lot.
