Dear AI:
This is a copy of a letter that I have submitted to the
residents of Hereford Street regarding the revisions that
I would make in the proposed plat.
Enclosed are copies for the members of the Planning and
Zoning Commission. I would appreciate it if you would
distribute these copies to the members.
Thank you very much for your help.

TO RESIDENTS OF HEREFORD STREET:
Regarding the petition letter dated February 13, 1977 submitted
to the Planning and Zoning Commission by Luther Jones, I would
like to make the f.ollowing proposal.
It was not the intention of Tony Jones Construction Company to
move in and devalue present homes or to hurt anyone's feelings
in regard to subdividing existing lots in the manner submitted.
It was then, and is still my opinion that as submitted, it would
not deter, but would add to the existing homes on Hereford.
Prior to submitting this proposed plat to Planning and Zoning,
I made an effort by talking to a few residents in this area to
let them know what was to be subdivided and how it was to be
subdivided. At that time, I met no opposition. Therefore, I
submitted the pla~ as planned.
As I mentioned earlier, it was not my intention-to hurt anyone's
feelings-in subdividing..the- land ..__Therefore,if it is acceptable
to you, I would alter the proposed plat to show three lots on
Hereford at approximately 100' frontage, but leave the five
lots on Welch as submitted. The five lots on Welch could only
enhance and appreciate the value of any surrounding property.
I trust that you feel that this revision would be satisfactory.
If there are any questions, I would appreciate your calling me
at your convenience.
Sincerely,
TRUCTION COMPANY

The present plan will make an undesirable addition with 4 houses on Hereford,
instead of three. and five houses on Welsh instead of four.
If lots are 100 feet frontage, three houses facing Hereford should be the
limitation. If lots are 76 feet frontage, four houses ,facinF!;_ ~elsh
should be the limi tation. O,nd ...tt 01'\ C1V~8f)
\~e desire this 1 imitation (to ~ 3 ho~!ses ~r,3 lots on Hereford).rA because:
~ em ~-ft;.d f'
the four house-lot sitli~w()n ~il1 make a crowding affect and an undesirable
neighborhood, with a reduction in the sale value of our present home places.
The present neighborhood on Hereford includes three places North of the
proposed installation with over 100 feet frontage. Also the three places
South of the proposed installation are 100 foot frontage.
\~e think the future buildings, if an.y should be 100 foot frontage, on Hereford.

Lots on Hereford flleasure 76 by 142 apparently and the lots on ~Ielsh measure
62 by 142.
We, the undersigned, living in the neighborhood of Hereford Drive, or on
Hereford Drive having seen the stakes on the said street, and noting that
the stakes mark the front \'lidth of lots, and observing that stakes are
appro~i?At7~~Y six (76) feet apart conclude that there will be four
(4) lot~ in the area (known as Durst-Letbetter Area).

It has been stated that the area is 310 feet along Hereford Street, bet'Afeen
the Jones property and Thompson Street, and is 284 feet deep, between Hereford
and \;',lelsh. There appear to be 9 lots in the area, 4 on )"fereford and 5 on
