O. sox 715 KATY, TEXAS 77450 March 11, 1976 College Station Planning & Zoning Commission c/o Mr. Al Mayo City Planner, College Station P.O. Box 9960 College Station, Texas 77840 Gentlemen: We .have at this time a request to your office asking for a change in zoning for lots 1, 2 & 3, Block D of the College Heights Sub-Division of College Station, Texas. This property is at the corner of McArthur and University Drive. After Gonsiderable study our organization selected this proposed site for our Bryan, College Station office on the basis of the following factors: a) Our present location in Bryan is not convenient to our members in the College Station Schools and at the University. b) The selected site is much more convenient to College Station residents and at the same time is still quite convenient to per- sonnel of the Bryan Schools by way of 29th St. extension. c) The College Station community is growing and expanding at a rapid rate -- to the South and North east. We would like to be near that extension. d) The proposed property offers the possibility of an interim use, with little outlay of expense, until we can plan and build a more suitable business office. It is our sincere desire that you will act favorably on this request and our hope is that an early approval'will be possible. Respectfully, ~. Cl/_/ tf- /4M~; Cl de D. Box 9960 College Station, Texas 77840 Gentlemen: To augment our present request to the Commission to re-zone lots 1, 2 & 3, Block D of the College Heights Sub-Division we offer the fol- lowing additional information. The building presently on this site will serve our very immediate needs only and when economically feasable, we will contract for a permanent, modern, fireproof construction building that will enhance the area and meet all of the city.s specifications and requirements. Timewise we are projecting 12 to 18 months for this need. The depth of these three lots jointly will afford us 167 ft. from front (University Drive) to back. This property is desir-able for our needs because it allows for the parking space for clients that will be 100% off street parking. At no time can we see our business contributing to a traffic congestion problem to the motorists or to the City of College Station. We feel that our credit union will be an enrichment to the City of College Station and respectfully request your affirmative decision.
