Prior to purchasing this unit I spoke with several members of the Planning and Zoning Commission about the ultimate use of the adjoining two',:a,c:reptece of land. I was advised that the Pl anning' and Zoning Commission had questioned ,the ownerls desire to subdiv'ide his original tract whi chinel uded,thetwo acre tract under consideration and the 1 and on \vhich Courtyal~dApartme'nts was 'buil t. I was further advi sed ,that he was, told that. the two. acre piece was too small for commercial development 'and that he should not expect to have it re'zoned"for commercial, purposes., Based on' this information I purchased Courtyard Apartm,ents. Now the lot'owneristryingto obtain a change in zoning to commercial: des'jgnation. Asowner.ofCourtyardApartments I am opposed to this zoning change. More convenience.outlets(particularly retail stores) are just not needed'. / There are a few facts which I want to lay on the table. I presented the owner of this property with an offer for it in September~ 1980 which included a prime price for 'apartment zoned property. After asking me to wait for a decision for two months, the offer was rejected on the basis that the owner was betting on forcing through a zoning ,change even though he had been told a change was not forthcoming.
