All places that where disturbed have been seeded and should have growth in the next 30-45 days. Weather permitting. We will also be responsible for any sediment that ends up in the public storm system. The check for $3,200 is for the 200' of sidewalk west of Dalton. We will install this once we have permission from the gas co. To cross the line. This should happen in the next 60-90 days. The letter to accompany the surety needs to say what the money is for and your timeframe for getting it done. Letter also needs to acknowledge that you will be responsible for removing any sediment that may get deposited in the public storm system ahead of the grass getting established. Since there is no stationing on the 8-foot sidewalk/path, I scale the length to about 196 feet. I would call the length approximately 200 feet to be conservative. Again, the letter to accompany the surety needs to say what the money is for and your timeframe for getting it done. Please call me if you have any questions, Carol L. Cotter, P.E. We ripped out that small piece of 5ft sidewalk. We would like to bond that whole piece. Could you get me an exact length of that piece of sidewalk. Donnie indicated that there are areas that haven't yet been seeded. Israel also noticed that the 30' section of sidewalk on the west side of Dalton Lane was only 5 feet wide and should be 8 feet in width. Your surety needs to include the entire length of the 8-foot sidewalk/path. Carol From: Carol Cotter Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2012 9:43 AM To: 'Dusty Phillips' Cc: Israel Koite; Donnie Willis Subject: Bonding sidewalk and vegetation Dusty, Donnie will take a look this morning regarding the vegetation. The $2,250 listed in the Cost Estimate was for broadcast seeding of ROW and berms. Were there other areas that were disturbed? What is area being bonded? Regarding the sidewalk/path. Plans indicate this is to be an 8-foot sidewalk/path. Please provide the estimate for the outstanding length of this sidewalk/path. The cost estimate you provided was for 4-foot sidewalks which this phase should actually have 5 foot sidewalks per the plans. With the surety for these items, you need to provide a letter stating what the funds are being provided for, and timeline for construction. Letter needs to be specific to length of 8-foot sidewalk and area of vegetation. Each pavement lane needs to 20' BC -BC for fire access. Most common practice is to designate median as "common area" when platting. Provide median drainage details to include perforated pipe, geotextile fabric and gravel media. I have attached an example of median drainage details and a plat for your reference. Print drawings on 11 x 17 for correct scale. During construction, a telephone vault was found. Developer contacted vault owner and they were agreeable to a median. I was contracted to revise the original design (By Phillips Engineering) to avoid disturbing the vault. Luckily, the vault was almost perfectly centered in the proposed road. Please note: • Revision is within proposed ROW. No additional width was needed. • The street slopes changed slightly to ensure the top of the vault was above the proposed back of curb. • Sidewalk was adjusted to roadway modification • Irrigation and electrical sleeves for outside edge of road to median are proposed. • The width of the road around the median is 15' BC -BC.
