Re.: Fire Hydrant As Built Flow Test
Great Oaks, Phase 13 and 14
MBESI No. 1028-0002
Dear Ms. Singh:
I witnessed the Wellborn Water representatives perform a fire hydrant flow test on the new fire
hydrants in Great Oaks Phase 13 and 14 yesterday. The following are the results of that test:
STATIC HYDRANT LOCATION: Spanish Oak Court/Arboleda Drive intersection
FLOW HYDRANT LOCATION: Mid block of Spanish Oak Court
STATIC PRESSURE GAUGE: 67 psi
RESIDUAL PRESSURE GAUGE: 43 psi
NOZZLE SIZE: 2.5"
DISCHARGE COEFFICIENT: 0.90
FLOWRATE FORMULA: Q=29.84cd2p0.5
C = discharge coef.
D = orifice size (in)
P = pilot pressure (psi)
CALCULATED FLOWRATE: 1,100 gpm @ 43 psi
Based on this information, the new water system meets the standards of College Station.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
*Jeffery L. Robertson, PE
