Staff Review Comments No. 1 Advanced Auto Parts (DRB) - 12-00500017 In order to create and preserve a distinctive character in the Wolf Pen Creek District standards have been put in place to ensure compatibility between the natural and built environment. Section 5.6.A.11.c.3 of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) states, "The colors, materials, and lighting of every sign shall be restrained and harmonious with the building and site to which it principally relates." It is Staff's recommendation that alternative colors be selected. The current selection will necessitate a Staff recommendation of denial to the Design Review Board. The application needs to be revised to include the fagade paint changes. The application previously submitted may be revised by hand if convenient. Section 5.6.A.11.c.4 of the UDO states that graphic elements on a sign shall be held to the minimum needed to convey the sign's major message. Staff believes that the freestanding sign graphic (black and white checkered flag) is not consistent with this ordinance. Reviewed by: Lauren A. Hovde, Staff Planner Date: February 4, 2012
