Bookstore Block Parallel Parking Conversion (CM to Boyett) - Meeting Held 12/14/10
1. Loading zone conversion is NOT supported
(primarily due to dedication requirement)
2. Sidewalk Conversion is supported IF the following conditions can be met:
a. Patricia (or College Main) opened for regular deliveries
(to primarily address access concerns for semis on NE end of block)
b. Replace free parking on surface lot (short term limit during day)
c. Process to allow existing businesses to operate on sidewalks, no fee or longterm with very low
fee

Concerns that will need to be addressed at meeting with city tY
a. What guarantee is there that city follows through with commitments for things like free par4kijn
or sidewalk use process BEFORE construction starts?
b. What stops competitors from setting up shop on sidewalks? Restrict use to existing business in
Northgate?
