BEN: AFTER BIDDING THE AEROFIT AND IN ORDER TO GET THE PROJECT IN BUDGET,
CF-RTAIN VALUE ENGINEERING ITEMS WERE REMOVED FROM THE PROJECT.
THE DRAWINGS SUBMITTED FOR PERMITTING "DO NOT' INDICATE THE REMOVAL OF
THESE ITEMS.
IF YOU REMEMBER WE SUBMITTED FOR A BUILDING PERMIT ON 11/29/11 IN ORDER TO
LOCK IN THE 2009 IBC AND THE TAS EFFECTIVE AT THAT DATE. THE PERMIT
DRAWINGS SHOULD REFLEGT THOSE CODES.
THE FOLLOWING LIST IS A DESCRIPTIVE NARRATIVE OF THESE ITEMS.
1) REFER TO DETAIL SHEET C3.1 - THE JOGGING PATH/ RUNNING TRACK COMPACTED
BASE HAS BEEN REMOVED AND THE RUNNING TRACK WILL CONSIST OF 4" OF
GRANITE FINES. ALL OTHER DETAILS FOR RUNNING TRACK REMAIN AS SHOWN ON
DRAWING,
2) REFER TO LANDSCAPE SHEET 1- THE PAVERS INDICATED AT THE FRONT ENTRY
HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH STANDARD SCORED CONCRETE.
3) REFER TO SHEET C3.1 - DUMPSTER SCREEN WALL INDICATED ATOP A CONCRETE
RETAINING WALL/ FOOTING HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM BRICK TO SPLIT FACED GMU.
ALSO SHOWN ON SHEET A4.0
4) REFER TO SHEET G1.2 DETAILS A,B AND G: THE RETAINING WALL AT THE REAR OF
THE SITE IS SHOWN TO BE FACED WITH BRICK; SPLIT FACE GMU HAS BEEN
SUBSTITUTED FOR THIS BRICK.
5) REFER TO SHEET A1.0- THE SCREEN WALL AT THE LOADING DOCK AND
MECHANICAL AREA IS SHOWN TO BE A DOUBLE WYTHE BRICK WALL - SPLIT FACED
GMU HAS BEEN SUBSTITUTED FOR THIS BRICK.

THESE DRAWINGS WAS ELIMINATED FROM THE PROJECT. THIS WORK INCLUDES
ALL WORK SHOWN ON COURTYARD PAVING, DRAINAGE, PLANTING, TRELLISWORK,
SCREEN WALL, PLANTINGS AND LIGHTING:
7) REFER TO ITEM 6 ABOVE: THE ALUMINUM CANOPY HAS BEEN DELETED FROM THE
EAST SIDE OF THE POOL AREA. THE CANTILEVERED AlLUM1NUM-CAtg0PY HAS BEEN
DELETED FROM THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE POOL AREA. THESE HAVE BEEN REPLACED
WITH ROD BRACED CANOPY COVERS OVER THE DOORWAYS LEADING TO THE
POOL AREA BOTH EAST AND SOUTH SIDES OF THE POOL.
8) REFER TO SHEET A4.0- ALL CIRCULAR COLUMN COVERS HAVE BEEN CHANGED
FROM CURVED ALUMINUM PANELS TO PAINTED GYPSUM FIBERGLASS REINFORCED
CONCRETE CIRCULAR PRECAST COVERS WITH PAINTED FINISH.
9) FLOORING IN VARIOUS ROOMS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO VINYL PLANK FLOORING
OR CARPET.
10) THE ELEVATOR SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS IS SIZED FOR A HOSPITAL BED. THIS
ELEVATOR HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A SMALLER SIZE CAB TO ACCEPT AN
AMBULANCE STRETCHER. THE ELEVATOR CAB STILL COMPLIES WITH IBC 2009.
11) THE DRAWINGS INDICATED A CAST IRON PIPING FOR ROOF DRAINS. THE V.E.
DELETED THE CAST IRON AND REPLACED IT WITH PVC. SINCE THIS BUILDING HAS A
PLENUM RETURN AIR THE ONLY PVC WILL BE IN COLUMN WRAPS. THE EXPOSED
PIPING IN THE PLENUM WILL REMAIN CAST IRON.
12) THE DRAWINGS INDICATED INSULATION ON ALL DOMESTIC GOLD WATER PIPING.
THE V.E. REMOVED ALL THE DOMESTIC COLD WATER PIPE INSULATION EXCEPT AT
EXTERIOR WALLS,
13) THE DRAWINGS INDICATED A D.D.C. CONTROL PACKAGE FOR THE HVAG SYSTEM.
THIS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A PROGRAMMABLE THERMOSTAT IN ALL HVAC
ZONES.
14) THE DRAWINGS INDICATED VARIABLE FREQUENCY DRIVES ON ALL VAV BOXES.
THIS HAS BEEN CHANGED TO ECM MOTORS.
15) THE DRAWINGS INDICATE AN ELEVATED LEVEL OF AESTHETIC CONSIDERATIONS
ON ACGESSORIES ON THE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM (IE: SPECIAL HANGERS,
SPACING OF HANGERS -ETC). THIS WAS DUE TO THE FACT WE WANTED TO LEAVE
OUT THE CEILING IN CERTAIN AREAS. WE SINGE HAVE PLACED A CEILING IN THESE
AREAS AND THUS THE AESTHETIC CONSIDERATIONS OF THE EXPOSED FIRE
SPRINKLER SYSTEM NO LONGER ARE REQUIRED. THESE CHANGES WILL BE
SHOWN ON THE FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM SHOP DRAWINGS: THESE DRAWINGS

WILL FULLY COMPLY WITH NFPA CODE REQUIREMENTS.
1G)THE FOLLOWING CHANGES WERE MADE TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
A) DELETE THE REQUIREMENT FOR CONCRETE ENCASED UNDERGROUND
ELECTRICAL CONDUIT.
B) CONDUIT SIZES WERE CHANGED FROM 3/4' TO 1/2' IN ALL LOCATIONS
EXCEPT THE DATA CONDUITS IN THE 2 STORY BUILDING.
C) WALL MOUNTED LIGHTING CONTROL SENSORS WILL BE USED IN LIEU OF
CEILING MOUNTED SENSORS.
D) STEPDOWN TRANSFORMERS INSIDE THE BUILDING WILL BE STANDARD IN
LIEU OF K-RATED TRANSFORMERS.
E) AN ALTERNATED LIGHTING PACKAGE HAS REPLACED THE LIGHTING
FIXTURES IN THE SCHEDULE ON DRAWINGS.
WHILE THESE CHANGES WERE NECESSARY, THEY IN NO WAY GOMPP-OM15E THE
LIFE SAFETY STANDARDS OF THE BUILDING'S CODE COMPLIANCE.
