I looked at it today. I don't have exact measurements, but the existing ground looks about 6 inches above the
pavement surface. So, the plant material In the area of the triangle (see identified areas on attachment) would
need to remain less than 2.5 feet tall.

JP,
Do we know the dimensions of the proposed flowerbed and/or what types of plants will be planted?
I do not see a problem with the request from a sight distance perspective, as long as the beds do not extend
toward Longmire across the projection of the fence line of the properties at 3718 Bridle Ct and 3800 Bridle Ct
toward Bridle Gate. The boundary line on the north side of the street line can be found in the field by holding a
string at the property corner between 3716 and 3718 Bridle Ct and pulling the string along the fence line to
Bridle Gate.
If the bed does extend beyond this limit, the plants should not be taller than 3 feet above the roadway surface
(i.e., not the ground they are planted in).

Based on the information provided, it does not look like the PIP will cause any serious problems with water
and / or sewer lines in this area. Water Services does not have any objection to this proposed PIP.

Bridle Gate Estates HOA
Bridle Gate Drive
College Station, TX
April 14, 2011
Mr. Robert Cowell
Director of P&DS
City of College Station
1101 Texas Avenue
College Station, TX 77845
Dear Mr. Cowell
Subject: Private Improvements in a Public ROW Fee Waiver Request
Bridle Gate Estates is a small neighborhood which has struggled for many years to keep our landscaping alive
during the dry seasons due to the Developer, in our opinion, who did not complete the neighborhood amenities
like he originally planned. An irrigation system along both sides of Bridle Gate Drive and several under street
sleeves were never installed, as well as landscaping at the Longmire Drive main entrance.
After several years, the HOA is finally in a position to make the five necessary bores under the streets and to
install a drip irrigation system within the six existing flowerbeds along Bridle Gate Drive. However, there are
some additional expenses that were not planned, including the $350 Private Improvements in a Public ROW
permit application fee. This permit is required before the Contractor can receive his irrigation permit.
This letter is to kindly ask for an application fee waiver of the $350. Bridle Gate Estates HOA, we believe has
been given the burden to finish what amenities we have that the Developer left incomplete. And with the
financial obstacles of a small neighborhood HOA, and as a non-profit organization, the HOA is seeking any
help possible.
Please strongly consider our fee waiver request.
Thank you,
Bridle Gate Estates HOA
