We have noticed that the active TxDOT permit for this project reflects the construction of a sidewalk along the SH6 frontage road. During permitting, these sidewalks were allowed to be removed from the project by the City of College Station, however the TxDOT permits were already in review and processing and these changes were not relayed to TxDOT. As a result the active TxDOT permit does not reflect this deletion. During the permitting of the Copper Falls project there was discussion regarding the requirement to construct sidewalks along the SH6 frontage road. Early in the permitting there was not a requirement for sidewalks along highways or freeways. This requirement then changed during processing of our project and sidewalks were required along SH6 frontage road. The requirement has been changed once again to delete the requirements for sidewalks along highways/freeways. Our TxDOT permit was submitted during the middle portion of this history wherein the sidewalks were required and thus they show up on our permit. Since that time we have modified our plans and those that are approved by the City of College Station took advantage of the timeframe wherein sidewalks were not required. Our intent with this letter is to simply put everyone on notice that the City reviewed and stamped plans are those that will be constructed and they DO NOT include a sidewalk along SH6 frontage. The TxDOT permit conflicts with this. 511 UNIVERSITY DRIVE EAST, SUITE 204 COLLEGE STATION, TX 77840 • T. 979.260.6963 • F. 979,260.3564 CIVIL ENGINEERING • HYDRAULICSHYDROLOGY UTILITIES • STREETS • SITE PLANS • SUBDIVISIONS info@milchellandmorgan.com v mnr itchellandmorgan.com If we need to update our TxDOT permit drawings for clarity please let us know.
