SUBJECT: BARRACKS II REC CENTER PH 2 (NRA)
Staff reviewed the above-mentioned site plan as requested. The following page is a list of staff
review comments detailing items that need to be addressed. Please address the comments and
submit the following information for further staff review:
City of College Station Transmittal Letter;
Memo providing written responses to all of staff's comments (identify the specific
page that each comment was addressed on or the reason for not addressing the
comment); and
One (1) revised set of elevation drawings.
Please note that this application will expire in 90 days from the date of this memo, if the
applicant has not providedwritten response comments and revised documents to the
Administrator that seek to address the staff review comments contained herein. If there are
comments that you are not addressing with the revised elevations, please attach a letter
explaining the details. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me

PLANNING
1. Provide a table listing the percentage of materials for each elevation. Please note not to
exceed allowable maximum percentages.
2. Identify/provide 2 different types of architectural relief elements on each elevation. As the
proposed structure is greater than 25 feet by 25 feet it is not exempt from this requirement.
Unless alternatives are approved by the Design Review Board (DRB), the elements used
must come from the list provided in Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Section 12-
7.10.6.2.a.

1. Provide a table listing the percentage of materials for each elevation. Please note not to
exceed allowable maximum percentages.
a. Please see new NRA drawing with percentages called out at bottom of sheet.
2. Identify/provide 2 different types of architectural relief elements on each elevation. As the
proposed structure is greater than 25 feet by 25 feet it is not exempt from this requirement.

i. The FRONT Elevation (drawing 4) incorporates a projected steel
trellis pilaster (Section 12-7.10 B2.3) and a steel bracket supporting
the roof overhang (Section 12-7.10 B2.1)
ii. The REAR Elevation (drawing 3) incorporates a steel trellis structure
offset greater than four feet from the façade (Section 12-7.10 B2.2)
and a projected overhang above the entry door (Section 12-7.10 B2.1)
iii. The RIGHT Elevation (drawing 5 & 6) incorporates a steel canopy
above the entry door (Section 12-7.10 B2.1) and a steel trellis
structure offset greater than four feet from the façade (Section 12-7.10
B2.2)
iv. The LEFT Elevation (drawing 7) incorporates a steel canopy above
the entry door (Section 12-7.10 B2.1) and a projected stone pilaster
(Section 12-7.10 B2.3)

added to provide fire coverage to the proposed pump room. This access will remain
until future parking, drive isle & fire access is provided on the adjacent tract along the
rear side of the pump room.

proposed structure is greater than 25 feet by 25 feet it is not exempt from this requirement.
Unless alternatives are approved by the Design Review Board (DRB), the elements used
must come from the list provided in Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Section 12-
