The Final Plat shows a total of 52 lots in this section. General Note: An analysis was conducted on the entire Castlegate II water system to ensure its ability to serve all lots under fully developed conditions. This analysis was conducted with water line sizes of 8" or less to demonstrate that larger size lines are not necessary even though they may be required by the City for future development in the area. Refer to the report by Phillips Engineering titled " Water System Report For Castlegate II, Section 200 College Station, Texas",revised April 2011. Two analyses were conducted for Section 206 to demonstrate that it can function as a stand-alone system using water line sizes of 8" or less and the oversized 12" water line design required by the City for future development in the area. Primary Water Supply: Castlegate water service is provided by an existing 8" line on Victoria Avenue and an 8" line that lies in an easement in Section 7 of Castlegate. Section 200 was connected to each of these lines, and both lines will be used to provide looping in all future phases of the development. Section 206 connects to an existing 8" waterline that was constructed with Castlegate II Section 205. Land Use: Single family residential Design Criteria/Analysis Primary Water Supply: Existing 8"water line along Etonbury Avenue. This report provides the results of the water system analysis under the fire flow and domestic demand requirements,(1189 gpm)which produced the lowest pressure in the system. I 72.6 psi Fire Flow Demand FH 6 Velocity Max. ' 7.60 fps As shown above the system exceeds the minimum required pressures of 35 psi for domestic flow and 20 psi for fire flow in both analyses. The maximum velocity of 11.69 fps is less than the required maximum of 12 fps. Conclusion The proposed 12", 8", 6" and 4" water lines meet or exceed all of the design criteria for the City of College Station. They will provide adequate water pressure, flowrate and velocity for both domestic and fire flow demands. This could also be achieved using an 8"pipe in place of the oversized 12"pipe.
