COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT REQUEST FORM
The following is required if an amendment to the Land Use Plan is requested. Based on the nature
and extent of the requested amendment, additional studies may be required.Attach additional
sheets if necessary.
Current Land Use Plan designation: Single Family Residential Medium Density
Requested Land Use Plan designation: Planned Development(Pp)
Explain the reason for this Land Use Plan amendment: PD is needed to allow the
construction of Townhomes on the property and allow attached or detached residential
development and open space with a gross density between 3 to 6 dwelling units/acre.
Identify what conditions have changed to warrant a change in the land use plan
designation:
The development of the Albertson's shopping center and properties to the west along
Cooner Street warrants this change in land use.
How does the requested land use designation further the goals and objectives of the City of
College Station Comprehensive Plan? The proposed land use will provided orderly and
intentional growth and development within the City of College Station. The proposed land
use will provided a good transition from the retail/commercial property to the south (i.e.
Albertson's) to the medium density single family housing to the east (i.e. Chimney Hill
subdivision.)
Explain why the requested land use designation is more appropriate than the existing
designation. As stated above, the proposed land use is a good transition from the
retail/commercial property to the south (i.e. Albertson's)to the medium density single family
housing to the east (i.e. Chimney Hill subdivision.)
