MEMORANDUM
July 9, 2008
TO: Arcadio Blonski, Blonski Architects, via blonskiarchitect(csbcglobat.net
FROM: Jason Schubert, AICP, Staff Planner
SUBJECT: CANDLEWOOD SUITES (NRA)—NRA Review
Staff reviewed the E.I.F.S. color samples provided for the above-mentioned Non-Residential
Architectural submittal. The color samples provided match colors on the City's Color Palette
and therefore are approved. As you recall from my comments dated June 16, 2008, however,
the first two stories of the North and West (labeled East) elevations are required to consist of at
least 25% masonry materials as previously described. Therefore the proposed materials on
these façades will need to be revised to meet that requirement. In addition, revised building
elevations will need to be submitted before the site plan can be approved since in order to meet
the Non-Residential Architecture Standards, it may be necessary to alter the building's footprint
and thereby perhaps affect the site.
Please address the comments dated June 16, 2008 and submit the following information for
further staff review:

Jason,
Attached file we design the site plan according to city requirement leaving 15 ft extra on front side for
right of way. Can you look at this site plan and see this will work for city before we start drawing full set
of plan.
Thanks
Paresh

Subject: Re: FW: INDEPENDENT HOTEL-COLLEGE STATION
Paresh,
I apologize for not looking at this sooner. I have glanced at it and it seems in general that the concept
may work. I noticed the end islands on the north end of the building are not full size and I'm not sure
about the length of the drive aisle down to the dumpster being ok, if there are sanitation or fire concerns.
There are likely other things that may come up as part of a full review. As for the building, I do not
believe there are two types of architectural elements every 45'/60'. There may still be some things to
work out but I believe that what you are proposing will be able to be revised and ultimately approved.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Jason
