I've acquired most of the private and staff signatures for this abandonment. We will need someone who has signing authority for the Church property to sign the attached Exhibit#5 and to provide the document assigning the authority. Note that due to the utilities along this reach of Lodge we are intending to retain a public utility easement, and due to the fire fighting considerations we intend to retain a public/fire access easement as well. City of College Station Sr.Asst.City Engineer, Public Works From: Alan Gibbs To: McLemore, Charles; Mosley, Bob; Robinson, Carla; Schwartz, Jan Date: 7/25/2007 5:20 PM Subject: Lodge ROW Abandonment I have placed this item in the review folders for Legal and PW for the August 23rd Council Meeting. Carla, As discussed the issued raised were the emergency access for fire and the public benefit for the abandonment of a street. Purpose No.6 and Part 2 (as highlighed) reserve an public access easement as Eric Hurt agreed (Jon Mise may not have been aware). The WHEREAS and Purpose No.4 have public benefit language as we discussed on the phone(I did not include that all property ownership in the vicinity would still have direct frontage on public streets in a highly connected public street system even after the proposed abandonment-as this was largely covered in Purpose No.1). I hoped to get your approval before advertising again with the Eagle on August 2nd. I was tentatively aiming for the August 23 Council Meeting which requires the ad to the Eagle on August 2nd.
