Field verification of the location places the main closer to the structure, but still not under it. 2] Gary Doucette of All Phase Construction(820-1870) is performing the construction. 3] Relocation costs are minimal. I estimate labor and materials to move the structure at $275. 4] Cash to cover removal costs: I await your determination of what this amount will be. The following is a list of items that need to be submitted prior to approval: 1. Please submit the check for $275. 2. The utility department is not comfortable with the proximity of this structure to the water main. The proposed location would make it extremely difficult to do any maintenance on that portion of the water main. Would it be possible to cantilever the structure, as to avoid the columns closest to the water main? Attached is my proposed redesign which should stabilize the structure while giving 48" clearance from the main. The post closest to the main would support the weight of the canopy while the second post would provide counterweight to keep the structure from pulling towards the canopy load. Thanks for your consideration. Hopefully this revision will meet the utilities department's need for clearance while allowing for a stable structure design.
