Box 9960 College Station, Texas 77842-9960 RE: Lincoln Community Center — Parking Lot Addition — Loading Constraints RME No. 209-0298 Peter Vanecek: Due to grading and drainage constraints with the parking expansion for the above referenced project, the proposed design is unable to meet typical H2O loading requirements. This deficiency is experienced where the pavement is directly over the existing 4'x3' box culvert which drains runoff collected from Eleanor Street into an unnamed tributary of Bee Creek that bisects Wayne Smith Park. To accommodate H2O loading a minimum of two (2') feet of cover should be maintained over the box structure. The design proposed will only accommodate approximately 0.80' of cover. Although H2O loading cannot be achieved (i.e. repetitive or sustained loading from fire trucks, tractor trailers, etc.,.), the pavement/box culvert system should accommodate medium traffic loading without measurable distress. Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions. Sincerely, Rabon A. Metcalf, P.E. nabonrg, iengineen.eo Filename: CDI-209-0298-L06 Page - i of 1
