Justifications for Approval
Advance Auto Parts is currently in the process of a nationwide remodeling initiative.
This property located at 204 Harvey Road is going to be completely remodeled and will
look like an entirely new business. Currently we have two (2) wall signs on the building.
We are proposing to remove both of our wall signs and replace them with only one (1)
wall sign. In addition, we are proposing to remove our existing cabinet and replace it
with a new cabinet which represents our new nationwide logo.
The light bar and red panels are simply architectural details that Advance Auto Parts has
added to the building to break up the two ton monotony. The red panels are non-
illuminated. The sign is attached through the panels into the wall behind them.
The light bar has internal illumination, but only produces a soft glow which does not
illuminate the façade above or below where it is placed. Again, this is an architectural
detail of the building designed in a way to tie the building in with the overall renovations
and sign program.
The wall sign is 145 sqft and will be replacing two (2) existing wall signs which total 250
square feet. That is a reduction of over 105 square feet from what was previously there.
The ground sign that we are proposing is a 6x18 cabinet on the same pole. The cabinet
that we are changing is one of our standard signs which promotes consistently of our
signage throughout the country.
Our sign program is a dramatic increase aesthetically to the property while reducing the
overall number of signs and square footage that previously existed. Advance Auto Parts
looks forward to a favorable response to our proposal and look forward to becoming a
great looking business in the City of College Station.
