BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF BRAZOS COUNTY WILL MEET IN REGULAR
SESSION ON 31 OCTOBER 2006 AT 9:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS
COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 E. 26TH STREET,
SUITE 115,BRYAN,TEXAS.
1. Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance—Commissioner Peters.
2. Call for citizen's input and/or concerns.
Consider and take action on agenda items 3—25:
3. Budget Amendment 05/06-54.1 thru 05/06-54.11.
4. Budget Amendment 06/07-4.1 thru 06/07-4.5.
5. Personnel Change of Status.
6. Payment of Claims.
7. Renewal of The Hartford Accidental Death and Dismemberment (ADD) policy with no
change in rates, effective 1 September 2006 (previously tabled).
8. Renewal of The Hartford Long Term Disability (LTD) policy with no change in rates,
effective 1 November 2006 (previously tabled).
9. Renewal of the BCBSTX Group Medical &Dental Insurance, effective 1 January 2007.
10. Renewal of the MedEx Stop Loss Insurance, effective 1 November 2006.
11. Resolution 06-016 recognizing Dr. Paul Van Riper for his efforts in historic
preservation for Brazos County.

12. Indemnification of $50.00 from the general fund to compensate for a shortage in the
deposit from 18 August 2006 that resulted from computer problems.
13. Request from the Brazos County Bail Bond Board to retain counsel to represent them in
a pending legal matter.
14. Approval of Bell County Health Facilities Development Corporation Hospital Revenue
Bonds (Scott and White Memorial Hospital and Scott, Sherwood and Brindley
Foundation Project), Series 2006.
15. Resolution 06-017 authorizing approval of the issuance of hospital revenue bonds for
the benefit of Scott and White Memorial Hospital.
16. Tax Refund Applications for the following:
a. Karim Muhammad d. Art of Living Counseling
b. Northern Leasing Systems, Inc. e. Mildred P. Lindsey
c. Essie L. Stevenson
17. Requisition 00011556 to Wilton's Office Works for the purchase of furniture for the
Road & Bridge Department.
18. Requisitions for the furnishings of the Sheriffs Administration Building as follows:
a. Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice for modular furniture $ 119,582.00
b. Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice for case goods 21,763.00
19. Blanket maintenance agreement with Ikon for copier maintenance. Contract period is
10/01/06 through 9/30/07.
20. Renewal of Bid 2006-008, Transportation of Deceased to Medical Examiner, to Brazos
County Mortuary Services, Inc. at the same price. This renewal will be from 11/01/06
through 10/31/07; new bid number is 2007-005R.
21. Declaration of surplus property as "salvage" that was advertised for sale in accordance
with Local Government Code §263.152 and received no bids, and authorization for
either destruction or other disposal.
22. Request for permission to enter E. Duane Peters' property located off Weedon Loop
(approximately 1600 feet from its intersection with Hardy Weedon Road) for the
purpose of opening creek at roadway culvert to improve drainage on Weedon Loop for
the health, safety and welfare of the general public. Site is located in Precinct 2.
23. Final Plat of Ferrill Creek Subdivision located in Precinct 2, 42.406 acres, Colbert
Baker League, A-4, Brazos County, Texas, with request for the following variance to
Brazos County's Subdivision and Development Regulations:
a. omit the required 20' (10' each side of lot line) internal public utility easements
between subdivision lots.

24. Preliminary Plat of Creek Meadow Subdivision located in Precinct 1, with request for
the following variances to Brazos County's Subdivision and Development Regulations:
a. allow lot size to be less than one acre;
b. allow lot width to be less than 70';
c. allow minimum road right of way width to be less than 70';
d. allow block lengths to vary from 1500' to 2000';
e. no encasing/sleeving of non-pressure utilities;
f. allow side lot utility easement placement to be assessed by utility company;
g. allow building front setbacks to vary form 16' to 20'.
25. Payment authorization in the amount of $503.14 from Building Maintenance to
Reporters Paper & Manufacturing Co. for the purchase of stenography pads. The
amount exceeds the purchase order by more than 10%.
26. Announcement of interest items and possible future agenda topics.
27. Call for citizen input and/or concerns.
28. Agency/Board/Committee reports by Court members.
29. Adjourn
The Brazos County Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign
