Mr. Poland, As a follow-up to our phone conversation yesterday I was to get back with you regarding the setback and landscaping issues. According to the site plan, the tower is setback approximately 25 feet. This is actually the required building setback for C-1 General Commercial districts, so this is fine. The screening/fencing does not have to meet any setback but visibility to the intersection must be maintained in accordance with Section 7.1.0 Visibility at Intersections in all Districts. Being over 6 feet in height, the "fence" will be included in the building permit. A sign permit will also be required to relocated the affected reader board. Landscaping may be required through the approval process of the Conditional Use Permit. New plantings must be irrigated as well. I trust this addresses the questions you had. The tower is planned to be located near the mall sign and will be constructed to appear as a 100'tall flag pole. The installation will be composed of the tower and an equipment shelter located at the base of the tower. The shelter and the base of the tower will be enclosed by a solid wall made from materials that will match the material of the base of the existing mall sign. Attached to this mail is the following information regarding the proposed installation: A site sketch indicating the location of the site on the mall property.A Conditional Use Permit ApplicationA picture of the site"before"the installationA photo rendition of the site"after"the installation The proposed installation is unmanned and will require connections to electricity and telephone. The site does not require water or waste water. Once installed, the site will be visited several times each month by Verizon Wireless technicians for routine maintenance.
